Product Description
The addition of a lens hood can help prevent flares--those circles of light that can accompany images where a strong light source is just outside the fame. These type of lens flares occur when indirect light rays pass through the front lens elements but don't make it all the way through to the image sensor. Opteka's ET-65B Lens Hood is designed for the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM & EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS DO USM Lenses. Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. This dedicated lens hood is designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

Same as Canon only much cheaper. Works the same. Dont pay for the Canon label if you dont have to.

Cheaper than Canons and does the exact same thing.

Not bad for the price of $14.95. Much cheaper than Canons.
Twist onto lens is good but once its on it has a loose fit.
But for this price Ill live with it.

The hood works well, with just a small amount of play on the canon lens. No problems with its function, so it is worth buying and saving some money as compared to the pricier Canon hood.
