The Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM telephoto zoom lens has been developed to meet the high-performance standards that today's photographers demand. The telephoto effect can make the picture look compressed or have excellent background blur. At the 300mm focal length, you can fill the frame with a postcard from 4.9' away. This lens is ideal for sports, portraiture, animals, etc. Improved Image Stabilizer Technology provides up to three stops of "shake" correction, and the "Mode 2" option stabilizes images while panning with a moving subject.

This high-quality Vivitar UV Filter blocks the invisible UV component of light from the sky, which can cause blur and to which many color films react with a blue cast. UV Filters are ideal for photography in high altitudes (in the mountains), by the sea and in regions with very clean air. The pictures gain brilliance and disturbing blue casts are avoided.

The Precision Design ET-65B Lens Hood is primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of extra impact protection.

I purchased the kit about 3 weeks ago. The lens is quite big and heavy but I was astonished by the pictures it takes. The zoom is incredible and the IS is greate. Although its not designed for macro or portraits the results were amazing. I used the lens in disney world and the performance was outstanding. I think this lens is a must in your canon back pack.

This lens kit arrived in good shape and with all the scheduled accessories. The lens is used by my wife who is a good amateur photo bug. She is very impressed with the ease of use and the clarity of the images. It works well with her Rebel XTi camera. The image stabilization works well.

The lens arrived in the schedule time frame in great condition -no complaints. The package has some repeated items, like a couple of different types of lens cleaners. Would have preferred to get something else for the money, but all was new and in good condition.

Excellent lens for closeup and distance photos. The performance of the "IS" and "USM" features result in many exceptional photographs. My primary photographic interests are insects and flowers, when I can not get close to my target with a macro this is my lens of choice, especially for insects. Its a heavy lens on a Canon 50D but the photo quality is worth the agravation of lugging it around.
